If you believe in the Bible, than you believe that God is the creator of the universe and that His son, the Lord Jesus Christ, died on the cross for all of our sins. These verses are so exciting because of the fact that ADOPTION is such a relevant part of God’s love and acceptance of each one of us.
Ephesians 1:3-6
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, just as He CHOSE US in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love, having predestined us to ADOPTION as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will, to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He made us accepted in the Beloved.
As believers, we have all been adopted. We are fully and unconditionally loved by Him. It is so good and so comforting to know that not only has He accepted each one of us, He has CHOSEN us.
As an adoptive mom, I can identify even more so with the magnitude of His “choosing me”. This passage has been instrumental in helping our daughter to see that we can somewhat identify with her – as we, too, were adopted. But most importantly, God has chosen to use ADOPTION as THE WAY for us to be in relationship with Him. It is one of the most beautiful of illustrations of His love for us.
