Christian Adoptive Family from California

“Togetherness and making family memories is our life.”

We admire you for this courageous decision you are considering. We want you to know that we would do all we can to support you in this next chapter of your life. You are one courageous soul. We know that this decision is not one you are taking lightly, and we would love for you to get to know more about our family. We are Nikki, Joe, Westin (6) and Wyatt (our Angel in the sky). We are an on the go, Christian family and own our home in sunny San Diego, CA. Our happy places are at the beach, paddle boarding, bike riding, concerts in the park, gardening or simply hanging at home bbqing with friends and family that live nearby. We just celebrated our 10 year wedding Anniversary and we keep rocking out to the reggae band (The Devastators) that played at our wedding! We love to listen to music together while cooking in the kitchen. Joe also likes to golf and I love to boogie board! Baseball season just ended recently, and Joe was the assistant coach for Westin’s team, The Grasshoppers. Togetherness and making family memories is our life.

Westin also enjoys his weekly drum lessons and gymnastics class. He almost has the cartwheel down! He started kindergarten this year and is reading like a champ! As a reading specialist, I’d like to take all the credit, but it’s all him! He loves to read! He is beyond excited for a sibling and we pray every day for a baby to join our family. He recently asked me whether he grew in my tummy or another Mommy’s tummy despite knowing he grew in mine. My heart skipped a beat because he’s really grasping how adoption is love, the love of a child that has the gift of two mommies. He knows I cannot carry a baby in my belly after the late pregnancy loss of his brother Wyatt, but we are all carrying our future baby in our hearts. If you choose us, your baby will have the most caring, best big brother (and cat) that will love him/her unconditionally. Love does not run short supply in our home and we can’t wait to add another child to our family.

Once we are matched with a baby, I (Nikki) will be staying home on an extended leave. I stayed home for 14 months when I had Westin and have plans in place to do the same again. When (and if) I go back to work, we have an amazing neighborhood Montessori childcare that he/she will go to that is right up the street from our house. The teacher is the most caring and nurturing I have ever met. And as a teacher myself, I also have summers off so we will be filling that time with adventures, explorations, and family trips. We believe in open adoption with all our hearts and would follow your lead on what you are interested in, comfortable with, and ready for. We are open to it all. We are open to letters, videos, pictures, a private social media page, and visits.

Whatever feels best for you. We want you to be a part of your child’s life as much as you hope to be. I’d love to put together a baby life book and have you and extended family be a part of it. We would love for baby to know about you, your passions, and all the things you are interested in as he/she grows. It is so hard to capture our personalities and love through a profile book and a letter, but we hope that you feel like you know us a little more than you did before. We are  honored that you connected with us through this process, and we wish you peace about your decision. We will be praying for you and your baby and hope to be able to get to know you soon.

All our Love and Admiration,

Joe, Nikki and Westin
