Father God, we uplift all of the parents, siblings, families and loved ones affected by the sickening events at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newton Connecticut. We know that you love children and that those who were senselessly lost this morning are now with you.
We pray for those parents who are numb with grief today. We pray for the lifetime of mourning they will feel for their children. May you grant them that peace that passes all understanding. We pray for comfort for that school and for those children who have been personally affected. We pray for that community and for those of us who grieve with them.
We trust you, Lord, in spite of this incredibly unjust and horrible tragedy. We pray all of these things in the name of your son, the Lord Jesus, Amen
